Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to residents, supporting dignity and independence
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff
- Help create a warm, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and families
- Document care activities accurately and communicate effectively with the care team
Qualifications
- GNA certification (required) — you’re qualified to deliver hands-on care
- Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred
- Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered approach
- Ability to pass background and health screening as required by facility
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of GNA program/certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
- Skillful in safe patient handling and mobility assistance
- Familiarity with charting and basic clinical documentation
- Ability to observe and report behavioral and physical changes
- Team-player mindset with good time management and organization
