Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, dignified care to residents with a focus on comfort and safety
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and feeding
- Monitor and report changes in residents’ conditions to the nursing team promptly
- Support mealtime routines and ensure proper meal assistance when needed
- Document care accurately and communicate clearly with the interdisciplinary team
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families, offering kindness and respect
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (required) — you know your stuff and are proud of it
- Comfortable working the 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM day shift on a regular schedule
- Strong communication skills and a resident-centered approach
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
- Previous long-term care or geriatric experience is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved GNA program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with activities of daily living and personal care
- Knowledge of basic infection control and safety practices
- Good observational skills for noticing changes in resident condition
- Solid documentation and handoff communication abilities
- Team player mindset and ability to follow care plans
