Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, making their comfort and dignity a priority
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting and mobility
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
- Document care accurately and thoroughly to keep the care team informed
- Support safe transfers and positioning to prevent falls and skin breakdown
- Communicate with residents and families with patience and respect to build trust
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience in long-term care or with geriatric populations is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; reliable and compassionate
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic patient care procedures
- Knowledge of infection prevention and safety best practices
- Ability to follow care plans and document observations clearly
- Comfortable with safe resident handling and assistive devices
- Good time management and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
