Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and grooming with dignity and respect
• Provide compassionate, person-centered care for older adults and support their comfort and safety
• Help with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Observe and report changes in condition to nursing staff promptly to support quality care
• Assist with meals and feeding as needed, monitoring intake and resident needs
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and resident interactions
• Support a warm, homelike environment by engaging residents in conversation and meaningful activities
• Follow infection control practices and facility policies to protect residents and staff

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (Class: GNA) — required
• State registration or certification as required by Maryland regulations — verify during application
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtain upon hire
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Demonstrated comfort and experience working with geriatric populations preferred
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Experience with assistance in ADLs and mobility support
• Basic knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
• Familiarity with documentation and reporting in a long-term care setting
• Ability to recognize and report changes in resident condition
• Good interpersonal skills for engaging with residents and families
• Comfort working as part of an interdisciplinary care team
