Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility
• Monitor residents and report changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
• Document care accurately and timely to support quality and continuity
• Support safe transfers and fall prevention measures to protect residents
• Collaborate with the care team to create a warm, respectful environment for seniors

Qualifications

• GNA certification or completion of a state approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant program
• Experience caring for older adults is preferred but great attitude and eagerness to learn are welcome
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required
• Up to date immunizations per facility policy
• Strong communication skills and a team oriented mindset

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of a GNA training program or state recognized certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfort with assisting residents with ADLs and mobility
• Basic infection control practices and safe patient handling
• Accurate documentation and charting skills
• Observational skills to notice and report subtle clinical changes
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary care teams
