Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care for residents, promoting dignity and independence
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Monitor resident condition and communicate changes promptly to the care team
- Support mealtime assistance and dietary needs while encouraging proper nutrition
- Document care and observations accurately and timely in resident records
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- GNA certification (required)
- Previous experience with geriatric or long-term care residents preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations per facility policy
- Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate approach
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic geriatric care and activities of daily living
- Familiarity with infection control and safe patient handling practices
- Comfortable documenting care and communicating with clinical staff
- Ability to follow care plans and support individualized resident needs
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with residents
