Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to geriatric residents, promoting dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Observe and report changes in residents’ conditions to nursing staff promptly
- Support mealtime assistance and safe feeding practices with patience
- Document resident care accurately and communicate effectively during shift handoffs
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents
Qualifications
- GNA certification or equivalent geriatric nursing assistant credential preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or similar settings is a plus
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings/immunizations
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong communication skills
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of a GNA program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical skills such as taking vital signs and assisting with mobility
- Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling techniques
- Comfortable with documentation and electronic or paper charting
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team
- Attention to detail and a resident-centered approach to care
