Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered care that preserves dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and toileting
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output, and any notable changes in condition
• Support safe mobility and transfers while following proper body mechanics and safety protocols
• Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families and the interdisciplinary care team
• Help create a warm, home-like environment by participating in social and recreational activities

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (state-specific as required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Clean background check and current TB screening or documentation of immunizations as required
• Previous experience caring for older adults preferred but trainees with the right attitude are welcome
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing consistent, high-quality care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a state-approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant program or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and basic personal care
• Knowledge of infection control practices and proper PPE use
• Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs and observations
• Experience with dementia-friendly care approaches and de-escalation techniques
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
• Empathy, patience and strong interpersonal skills
