Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care for residents — assist with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Take and record vital signs, report changes in resident condition promptly to nursing staff
- Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Follow care plans and document care accurately in the patient chart
- Create welcoming, respectful interactions that preserve resident dignity and promote independence
- Participate in team huddles and contribute to a positive, collaborative care environment
- Maintain infection control and safety standards to protect residents and staff
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — state registry required
- T-CNA credential if applicable to the facility (training or documented experience preferred)
- Previous experience in long-term care, rehab, or skilled nursing settings is a plus
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
- Reliable, compassionate, and able to work 12+ hour day shifts as scheduled
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA training program and state certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with ADLs and basic resident care
- Knowledge of infection control and patient safety practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and families
- Familiarity with electronic charting and basic documentation
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced care environment
- Team-oriented with a positive, patient-first attitude
