Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients — assist with activities of daily living and comfort measures
- Perform accurate and timely vital signs, patient observations, and reporting
- Assist the care team with safe transfers, mobility support, and fall prevention
- Document patient care activities clearly and maintain up-to-date records
- Support infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment
- Work collaboratively with nurses and therapists to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) required
- T-CNA classification indicated — candidates with T-CNA credential strongly encouraged
- Active New Mexico CNA licensure or ability to obtain state licensure prior to start
- Previous experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, or similar settings preferred
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required by facility
- Strong communication skills, dependability, and a compassionate approach to patient care
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADL assistance, patient hygiene, and mobility support
- Competent in taking and recording vital signs and basic clinical observations
- Knowledge of infection control and safety protocols
- Good documentation practices and basic computer/charting familiarity
- Team player with the ability to follow care plans and escalate concerns appropriately
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
