Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients — assist with activities of daily living and comfort measures
• Perform accurate and timely vital signs, patient observations, and reporting
• Assist the care team with safe transfers, mobility support, and fall prevention
• Document patient care activities clearly and maintain up-to-date records
• Support infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment
• Work collaboratively with nurses and therapists to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) required
• T-CNA classification indicated — candidates with T-CNA credential strongly encouraged
• Active New Mexico CNA licensure or ability to obtain state licensure prior to start
• Previous experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, or similar settings preferred
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required by facility
• Strong communication skills, dependability, and a compassionate approach to patient care

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADL assistance, patient hygiene, and mobility support
• Competent in taking and recording vital signs and basic clinical observations
• Knowledge of infection control and safety protocols
• Good documentation practices and basic computer/charting familiarity
• Team player with the ability to follow care plans and escalate concerns appropriately
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
