Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Silver Spring, MD
Shift Type: Evening shift, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM; days scheduled by facility (may include weekdays and weekends) - Evening
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $22 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities like bathing, dressing, and mobility with dignity and compassion
- Monitor and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly
- Support safe transfers and positioning to prevent falls and promote comfort
- Provide friendly companionship and engage residents in meaningful interactions
- Document care accurately and timely in resident records
- Follow infection control and safety procedures to protect residents and staff
Qualifications
- Active GNA certification or completion of an approved nursing assistant program
- Current basic life support CPR certification preferred or required per facility policy
- A caring attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to follow care plans and facility procedures consistently
- Prior experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; completion of a certified nursing assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic resident care and activities of daily living
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with residents and families
- Knowledge of infection control and safety best practices
- Comfortable with documentation and following care plans
