Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care across acute settings, including pre- and post-operative areas and the Emergency Department
• Manage mechanical ventilation and perform ventilator assessments and adjustments with confidence
• Administer nebulized treatments and other respiratory therapies accurately and safely
• Respond promptly and effectively to rapid response and code blue calls
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop clear treatment recommendations
• Document care and clinical decisions accurately in MEDITECH
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and support smooth handoffs

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• BLS and ACLS required; NRP and PALS listed as required certifications
• At least 2 years of recent relevant respiratory care experience preferred
• Demonstrated competence in mechanical ventilation and nebulizer administration
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound clinical judgment
• Driver's license required at submittal (used to verify radius eligibility)
• Must not be currently full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility (including CHI or Dignity)

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with mechanical ventilation and ventilator management
• Skilled in nebulizer administration and routine respiratory therapies
• Strong patient assessment and independent clinical decision-making
• Rapid response and code blue experience in acute care settings
• Comfort providing care across all age groups, including pediatrics
• Familiarity with MEDITECH charting system
• Clear communication and teamwork in fast-paced environments
