Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care and support daily living activities (bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility)
• Assist with safe transfers and ambulation while promoting patient independence
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes in condition
• Maintain clear, timely documentation in the patient chart or EHR
• Support infection prevention practices and maintain a clean patient environment
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff, patients, and families to ensure coordinated care
• Observe and report safety concerns, skin changes, or unusual behaviors promptly

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification valid in Pennsylvania
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Comfortable assisting with ADLs, transfers, and basic clinical tasks
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a caring bedside manner
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or acute care is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic patient care techniques and infection control
• Ability to take accurate vital signs and observe clinical changes
• Familiarity with safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Competence with documentation and basic electronic health record systems
• Teamwork, time management, and prioritization in a fast-paced setting
• Patient-centered approach and strong interpersonal skills
