Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM (day) and 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM (night); manager-assigned rotating schedule with every-other-weekend requirement

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and care for intermediate and downgraded CVICU patients with confidence
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret ECG strips to catch changes early
- Titrate drips safely (amiodarone, nicardipine, nitro, epi, cardizem and more)
- Collaborate with cardiology, hospitalists and intensivists for coordinated care
- Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC
- Support the thoracic, cath lab, EP and structural heart programs as needed
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses and care plans
- Float to same or lower acuity units when needed, maintaining high standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license (state-appropriate) required
- BLS, ACLS and NIHSS certifications required at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience (posting lists 2 years); at least 1 year caring for CVU/stepdown or similar cardiac patient population preferred
- Comfort and experience with cardiac telemetry and ECG interpretation
- Ability to titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips per unit policy
- Valid driver’s license required at submittal (radius rule applies)
- Willingness to pass a unit skills exam during orientation (90% required)
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiac monitoring and telemetry expertise
- ECG strip interpretation and rhythm recognition
- Drip titration and hemodynamic management
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic charting
- Experience with respiratory support devices (BiPAP/CPAP, nasal cannula troubleshooting)
- Understanding of cath lab, EP, structural heart and thoracic patient needs
- Ability to work with remote tele monitoring systems and interpret data
- Strong teamwork, communication, and clinical judgment in acute settings
