Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ functional mobility and establish individualized, measurable treatment plans
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to restore movement and independence
• Document clinical findings, progress notes, and discharge plans accurately and timely
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and rehabilitation aides to support coordinated care
• Educate patients and families on home programs, safe mobility, and fall prevention
• Participate in interdisciplinary discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions
• Maintain and troubleshoot therapy equipment and ensure a safe therapy environment

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist in North Carolina or eligible for state licensure
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Experience in skilled nursing/rehabilitation settings preferred
• Comfortable working with a diverse adult patient population with complex needs
• Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and collaborative mindset
• Ability to work a contract travel assignment and adapt to new facility workflows

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or entry-level degree in physical therapy as required by state licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise, gait training, balance and functional mobility training
• Familiarity with ADL retraining, transfers, and safe patient handling techniques
• Proficient documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
• Ability to perform effective patient and family education
• Strong verbal and written communication and interdisciplinary teamwork abilities
