Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
• Assist patients with mobility and safe transfer techniques to promote independence
• Measure and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
• Maintain clear, timely documentation in the patient record and communicate updates to the care team
• Support infection control and safety protocols to protect patients and colleagues
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver excellent patient-centered care
• Create a positive and respectful experience for residents and families through attentive service

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (Pennsylvania) in good standing
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings (TB, immunizations)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by facility
• Comfort with basic electronic charting or willingness to learn facility EMR
• Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completed state-approved CNA training program and current certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with ADLs and basic patient care
• Proficiency measuring and documenting vital signs
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safety procedures
• Basic charting skills and the ability to follow care plans
• Good time management, observation, and communication skills
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, lifting, and assisting with transfers
