Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, helping with activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, dressing, toileting, transfers and ambulation safely and respectfully
- Take and record vital signs, report changes in condition to the nursing team
- Document care accurately and timely, keeping patient records up to date
- Support infection prevention practices and maintain a clean, safe environment
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents and their families to promote dignity and comfort
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (required)
- Completion of an approved CNA training program
- Willingness to work per diem evening shifts (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM)
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility health requirements (immunizations, TB screening)
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to resident care
- Reliable transportation to Gettysburg Center
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of approved CNA training program (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on resident care and assistance with ADLs
- Basic vital sign measurement and observation skills
- Knowledge of infection control and safe transfer techniques
- Good documentation and basic charting skills
- Teamwork, time management, and strong bedside manner
