Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting significant changes to the nursing team promptly
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Assist with feeding, hygiene, grooming, and toileting while preserving resident dignity
- Document care accurately and timely in the resident record
- Communicate effectively with nurses, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Maintain infection control standards and a clean, safe environment for residents
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Pennsylvania
- Minimum CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required health screenings
- Successful background check and drug screening as required by facility
- Comfortable working the 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM shift and adaptable to per diem scheduling
- Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to support older adults
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in basic nursing care and activities of daily living
- Proficient in taking and documenting vital signs
- Knowledge of infection prevention and resident safety practices
- Ability to follow care plans and communicate changes clearly
- Compassionate bedside manner and effective teamwork skills
- Familiarity with electronic or paper charting systems preferred
