Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the CVN unit for complex cardiac and vascular patients
• Assess, monitor and document patient status, including telemetry and hemodynamic changes
• Administer medications, IV therapies and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and interdisciplinary team members to create and execute individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures and discharge plans to promote recovery and self-care
• Respond to clinical emergencies calmly and effectively, following unit protocols and standards of care

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license — Pennsylvania license or active compact license preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Previous experience on a CVN or cardiac/vascular nursing unit is strongly preferred
• Current immunizations and ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Strong assessment, critical thinking and communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical expertise in cardiac and vascular patient care, including telemetry interpretation
• Skilled in IV therapy, medication administration and cardiac monitoring
• Proficient with electronic medical record documentation and accurate charting
• Able to prioritize, multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Collaborative team player with patient advocacy and education strengths
