Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients' communication and swallowing function using evidence-based evaluations
- Develop individualized treatment plans that restore function and improve quality of life
- Deliver skilled therapy sessions and adapt approaches to each patient’s needs
- Document clinical progress and maintain accurate, timely records
- Collaborate closely with nurses, therapists, and family members for coordinated care
- Provide caregiver training and education to support discharge and ongoing progress
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to rehab planning
Qualifications
- Licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) — state license required to practice in Virginia
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Experience in skilled nursing, inpatient rehab, or post-acute care preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain quickly
- Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- ASHA CCC-SLP preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in dysphagia assessment and management and safe swallowing strategies
- Experience with adult communication and cognitive-communication disorders
- Comfortable with clinical documentation and electronic health records
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Good time management and caseload prioritization
- Ability to educate and support caregivers and family members
