Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on bedside care to residents and patients as a certified nursing assistant
- Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding) with dignity and respect
- Take and record vital signs, input data accurately, and report changes to the nursing team
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Document resident care and observations clearly in the facility charting system
- Follow infection control policies and contribute to a clean, safe environment
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to meet individualized care plans
- Deliver person-centered care that enhances resident comfort and well-being
Qualifications
- Active DE business license (required to staff in Delaware)
- Active DHS account (required)
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential
- Able to meet facility onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, immunizations) — facility will advise specifics
- Reliable, professional, and patient-focused with strong communication skills
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an approved CNA training program and active CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in basic nursing care and activities of daily living
- Comfortable taking and recording vital signs and observations
- Familiarity with facility charting / documentation practices
- Strong infection control and safety awareness
- Team player with effective verbal communication and empathy
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs during a shift
