Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care with compassion and respect—assist with daily living activities
- Monitor patients and report changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
- Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and positioning to support comfort and mobility
- Perform routine tasks like bathing, grooming, feeding, and toileting while preserving dignity
- Accurately document care and vital signs to keep the care team informed
- Collaborate with nurses and the care team to ensure each patient’s needs are met
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients and families
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (or equivalent) — ready to work in patient care
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable with hands-on patient care and physical lifting/moving assistance
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Ability to pass applicable background checks and health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA program and state certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing care principles and infection control practices
- Skill in safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Good documentation habits and attention to detail
- Compassionate bedside manner and effective communication with patients and families
