Shift Type: Rotating nights, 12-hour shifts, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM (night), typically 3 nights/week (36 hours guaranteed), schedule set by unit scheduler; every other weekend, holidays as needed

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care in a Medical-Surgical Cardiac ICU setting
- Monitor and interpret telemetry strips and manage hemodynamically unstable patients
- Titrate drips and manage commonly used infusions such as sedatives, pressors, insulin, and heparin
- Troubleshoot ventilators and assist with CPAP/BiPAP/high flow respiratory support as needed
- Collaborate with eICU remote monitoring, physicians, RTs, and multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
- Perform intentional hourly rounding and conduct bedside shift report to ensure continuity of care
- Respond to acute events including stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and neurological post-op care with sound critical thinking
- Document patient care accurately in EPIC and participate in unit-based quality and safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for Nebraska submission
- Minimum 1 year of relevant critical care or ICU experience preferred
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS at time of submittal
- Current driver's license required at time of submission (radius rule applies)
- Comfort with EPIC charting and telemetry interpretation
- Willingness to take and pass an orientation pass/fail skills exam (90% required)
- Ability to titrate drips and manage complex critical care equipment
- Cultural sensitivity and strong communication skills for a diverse patient population
Education
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry interpretation and arrhythmia recognition
- Drip titration and vasoactive medication management
- Critical care fundamentals including sepsis, STEMI, stroke, respiratory failure
- Experience with EPIC electronic charting
- Familiarity with CRRT, Impella, balloon pumps (Arrow), EVDs and lumbar drains
- Camino neuro monitoring and Gaymar hypothermia experience a plus
- Ventilator troubleshooting and familiarity with CPAP/BiPAP/high flow devices
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
