Shift Type: Monday-Friday, common shifts include 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, 1:00 PM - 9:30 PM, and 11:00 AM - 9:30 PM (4x10s option). Shift type: day (includes extended/evening shifts). On-call requirement: 4-7 days/month by sign-up with expected RN response within 60 minutes (30 minutes preferred). Call windows: Weekend day 5:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Weekend night 5:00 PM - 5:00 AM; Weekday call 9:30 PM - 5:00 AM.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert admit and recovery nursing care for patients undergoing left/right heart caths and complex procedures
• Monitor cardiac status closely using central telemetry and respond quickly to changes in condition
• Perform and support ultrasound-guided IV starts and maintain safe vascular access
• Work collaboratively with cardiologists, cath lab teams, RT, and pharmacy to ensure seamless patient care
• Use EPIC and PYXIS for accurate charting, medication administration, and unit workflows
• Serve as an on-call responder when scheduled, meeting the expected response time and supporting emergent needs
• Contribute to a welcoming, team-oriented environment that supports travelers and permanent staff alike

Qualifications

• Active WA RN license or Compact RN license (must be able to submit license information)
• Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS certifications
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience (preferably with admit/recovery or cath lab experience)
• Comfortable with cardiac monitoring and procedures such as complex PCI, electrophysiology, and interventional radiology
• Ability to participate in on-call rotation and respond within specified timeframes

Education

• Active RN license (WA or Compact) required
• BSN not required (ADN or diploma accepted); unit-specific orientation provided

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record and PYXIS medication systems
• Strong cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation skills
• Experience in cath lab pre/post recovery workflows and admit/recovery nursing
• Familiarity with complex PCI, electrophysiology, peripheral vascular and hybrid cases
• Competence in ultrasound-guided IV starts and ARRT-related equipment knowledge
• Excellent critical thinking, communication, and teamwork in acute care settings
