Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile operating room environment for a variety of surgical cases
• Scrub and assist surgeons during procedures, including robotic-assisted cases on the DaVinci system
• Manage instrument setup, counts, sterilization checks and equipment troubleshooting
• Anticipate surgeon needs and deliver instruments and supplies quickly and accurately
• Respond promptly to on-call notifications and provide safe, competent coverage overnight and on weekends
• Document perioperative care, instrument counts and equipment use accurately
• Collaborate with nursing, anesthesia and surgical teams to ensure efficient case flow and patient safety

Qualifications

• Experience working with the DaVinci robotic platform required
• Active Surgical Technologist certification or state license and verification of license/certificates
• Current BLS certification required
• DCI/BVP certification as listed in the credentialing requirements
• Successful completion of competency and specialty exams (Prime Core Competencies, Prime Skills Checklist, Prime Specialty Exam)
• Must be able to arrive at the hospital within 30 minutes when called for on-call shifts
• Willingness to comply with required health screenings and immunizations

Education

• Surgical technologist diploma or certificate (per facility requirements); high school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong competence in sterile technique and perioperative asepsis
• Thorough knowledge of operating room procedures and instrument handling
• Familiarity with robotic-assisted surgical workflows and instrumentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced OR setting
• Ability to prioritize tasks, stay organized and perform under pressure
• Comfort with floating across perioperative areas and adapting to varying case mixes
