Shift Type: 12-hour Day shift, 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM, approximately 24 hours/week; schedule varies with weekend/holiday coverage as required (possibly every other weekend/holiday). Day shift

Candidate Pay Rate: $55 - $59.5 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide trauma-informed, person-centered psychiatric nursing care to youth patients with empathy and professionalism
- Assess behavioral health needs and implement individualized nursing interventions to promote safety and stabilization
- Use de-escalation techniques and CPI strategies to manage challenging situations while prioritizing dignity and safety
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teammates to develop and adjust care plans focused on meaningful outcomes
- Accurately document patient care and progress in Cerner to ensure continuity and quality of care
- Monitor patient ratios and maintain safe staffing practices appropriate to the unit census
- Float to the Adult Hospital when needed, adapting skills to different patient populations and unit workflows
Qualifications
- Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license required at time of submission
- BLS certification required at time of submission
- CPI certification required or willingness to obtain within 45 days of start
- Minimum 2+ years of recent behavioral health experience
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- Willingness to work 12-hour day shifts and provide weekend/holiday coverage as required
- Ability to float to the Adult unit if youth census is low
Knowledge & Skills
- Trauma-informed care principles and person-centered decision making
- Behavioral health assessment and intervention for youth populations
- De-escalation techniques and crisis prevention (CPI familiarity)
- Proficient documentation in Cerner
- Strong collaboration, communication, and solution-oriented teamwork
- Safety protocols and ability to maintain therapeutic boundaries
