Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients while following facility protocols
• Perform thorough assessments and communicate changes in patient condition to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document each intervention
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to create and follow individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans with clarity and empathy
• Maintain accurate, timely charting in the electronic medical record and support smooth handoffs
• Promote a safe environment by following infection control practices and safety policies
• Support unit efficiency by assisting with admissions, transfers, and timely patient throughput

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact RN license valid for NC
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or equivalent
• Previous acute care experience preferred but new grads with clinical training are welcome
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; professionalism and reliability for per diem shifts
• Ability to pass facility background checks and required health screenings

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ASN/ADN or BSN)
• BSN preferred for career advancement opportunities

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
• Medication administration and safe documentation practices
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and basic computer skills
• Prioritization and time management during busy shifts
• Patient and family education with a compassionate approach
• Team collaboration across interdisciplinary care teams
