Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities like bathing, dressing, and grooming with dignity and respect
• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to older adults and promote independence
• Help with safe transfers and mobility support, using proper body mechanics
• Observe and report changes in residents condition to nursing staff promptly
• Take and record basic vitals and document care activities accurately
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families to enhance quality of life

Qualifications

• Valid GNA certification (required)
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working with geriatric populations and assisting with ADLs
• Reliable, compassionate, and a strong team player
• Ability to follow care plans and communicate clearly with clinical staff

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• GNA certification or state equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care and common age-related conditions
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
• Infection control and standard precautions
• Clear communication and teamwork with nursing staff and residents
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
• Compassion, patience, and strong observational skills
