Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care across multiple adult units by floating to med-surg, telemetry, ortho, surgical, neuro and oncology as assigned
• Perform thorough patient assessments and deliver bedside care that makes a measurable difference
• Manage IV lines, PICC/central lines and other vascular access devices with confidence and precision
• Operate and monitor common unit equipment including IV pumps, PCA/epidural pumps, telemetry and CO2 monitoring
• Support mobility and fall prevention using lifts, gait belts and SCDs while promoting patient independence
• Respond to cardiac and airway needs including tele-interpretation and CPAP/BiPAP support
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care, escalate concerns, and support smooth patient transitions
• Document care accurately and maintain required CEU and compliance documentation

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (ability to work in Missouri required)
• Current CEU documentation required during compliance (per facility policy)
• Experience in medical-surgical and telemetry nursing with demonstrated IV/line management skills
• Comfort floating across multiple adult specialty units (med-surg, cardio, ortho, neuro, oncology, surgical)
• Ability to safely manage up to a 1:6 patient ratio (may float to 1:8; willingness to take 8 when needed)
• Strong assessment, critical thinking and communication skills for remote tele-nursing and bedside care

Knowledge & Skills

• Medical-surgical and telemetry nursing best practices
• IV insertion and central/PICC line management
• Vascular device access and line care
• Use of IV pumps, PCA/epidural pumps and telemetry monitoring
• Feeding tube care, wound VAC management, traction and CPM familiarity
• Airway support skills including CPAP/BiPAP and trach care
• Ability to perform safe patient handling with lifts, gait belts and SCDs
• Comfort with remote tele-nursing and tele-interpretation workflows
