Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts; Days 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM and Nights 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM; schedule includes 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks (Sat/Sun for day shifts; Fri/Sat for night shifts); Every Other Week (EOW) night rotation; shift type: rotating (day/night)

Candidate Pay Rate: $88 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based labor and delivery care in the Family Birth Center
- Monitor fetal status using Phillips FHM and Fetal Link surveillance and act decisively on concerning trends
- Perform neonatal support and NRP as needed, ensuring safe transitions for mother and baby
- Collaborate with OB physicians, Laborists, RT, and pharmacy for coordinated, around-the-clock care
- Adhere to California nurse-to-patient ratios and maintain accurate Cerner charting
- Participate in weekend and holiday rotations alongside permanent staff
- Demonstrate competency by completing a proctored dysrhythmia test on day one (pass/fail)
- Assist with circulating or scrubbing as needed and support NICU transfers when appropriate
Qualifications
- Active RN license (eligible to submit) and current BLS certification
- ACLS and NRP required; Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required
- AWHONN training or equivalent advanced obstetric education preferred
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (OB/L&D experience preferred)
- Ability to pass a proctored dysrhythmia recognition/test on site
- Comfortable with 12-hour shift operation and weekend/holiday rotation
- Experience with Cerner charting and Phillips FHM or willingness to train
- Ability to follow California staffing ratios and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma accepted; BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong fetal monitoring skills and advanced fetal heart tracing interpretation
- Hands-on maternal/newborn care in a Family Birth Center setting
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR and Fetal Link surveillance systems
- Dysrhythmia recognition and cardiac rhythm knowledge
- Ability to handle low and high risk deliveries and recognize when transfer is needed
- Basic circulating/scrub experience and comfort collaborating in the OR/PACU environment
- Experience with NICU feeders/growers or willingness to care for couplet patients when floating
- Comfortable working with a multidisciplinary team including Laborists, RT, and pharmacy
