Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality transthoracic echocardiograms and cardiac sonography to support accurate diagnoses
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring images meet cardiology team standards
• Prepare patients and explain procedures clearly and compassionately to reduce anxiety
• Document studies and maintain accurate records in the electronic medical record system
• Collaborate with cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams to provide excellent patient care
• Participate in on-call rotations for nights and weekends when scheduled
• Maintain infection control practices and ensure safe, clean exam environments

Qualifications

• ARDMS (or equivalent) registration required
• BLS certification required
• DCI/BVP certification listed as required/desired
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening (minimum 10-panel), and required occupational health screenings
• License/certificate verification as required by facility
• Prior experience in echocardiography or cardiac sonography preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of echocardiographic imaging techniques and cardiac anatomy
• Proficiency with ultrasound equipment operation and image optimization
• Comfortable with EKG-gated imaging and cardiac measurement protocols
• Excellent patient communication and positioning skills
• Detail-oriented documentation and familiarity with electronic medical records
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cardiology care team
