Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Take and record vital signs and report changes in condition to the nursing team
- Assist with mobility, transfers and safe ambulation to promote independence
- Maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for residents
- Document care accurately and timely to support quality care and communication
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists and families to deliver person-centered care
- Support infection control practices and follow facility safety protocols
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of practice
- High school diploma or equivalent (see Education section for details)
- Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening as required by facility policy
- Willingness to complete background check and drug screening per facility requirements
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Reliable local transportation (LOCAL ONLY assignment)
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- State CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic patient care techniques and safe transfer/mobility practices
- Comfort with taking vitals and recognizing changes in resident condition
- Infection control and safe hygiene practices
- Clear, compassionate communication with residents, families and staff
- Ability to document care accurately and follow care plans
- Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy setting
