Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate patients' functional abilities and develop individualized OT treatment plans
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve independence and quality of life
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient-centered care
- Provide adaptive equipment recommendations, training, and home safety education
- Document progress clearly and timely to support continuity of care and outcomes
- Engage patients and families with compassionate education and goal-driven therapy
- Contribute to discharge planning and community resources to support long-term success
Qualifications
- Current OTR/L credential in good standing
- State licensure in New Mexico or eligibility to obtain New Mexico licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtain upon hire)
- Experience in rehabilitation, acute care, or outpatient settings preferred
- Strong clinical reasoning, patient communication, and documentation skills
- Comfort working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
Education
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or entry-level Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (as required for licensure)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADL/IADL assessment and training
- Knowledge of adaptive equipment, splinting basics, and therapeutic modalities
- Proficient with clinical documentation and goal-oriented treatment planning
- Ability to perform patient and caregiver education with empathy and clarity
- Familiarity with mobility, balance, and cognitive interventions in rehab settings
- Strong time management and caseload prioritization skills
