Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, expert nursing care for interventional radiology procedures including angiograms and peripheral revascularization
• Prepare patients and provide pre- and post-procedure care for renal, liver and lung biopsies
• Perform and maintain vascular access including central line and port placement and care
• Support placement and maintenance of hemodialysis catheters, nephrostomy drains, and gastrostomy/jejunostomy tubes
• Assist with pain management interventions, paracentesis and thoracentesis, and carotid stenting procedures
• Manage patient monitoring, defibrillation and rapid response as required in acute procedural settings
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record and participate in mandatory education and safety initiatives
• Function independently and proficiently in a high-stress, fast-paced procedural environment

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years current Interventional Radiology (IR) RN experience [REQUIRED]
• Cardiac Cath and Electrophysiology experience [REQUIRED]
• Defibrillation certification [REQUIRED]
• Active Massachusetts RN license — must be uploaded with profile [REQUIRED]
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications [REQUIRED]
• Strong IV skills and CCU (Cardiac Care Unit) experience [REQUIRED]
• Meditech Expanse experience [HIGHLY PREFERRED]
• Must have reliable personal vehicle and traveler permanent address included in profile
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this need

Education

• Active Massachusetts RN license (required)
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in Interventional Radiology procedures and Cath Lab workflows
• Proficiency with vascular access, central line and port placement
• Comfort with electrophysiology and cardiac catheterization environments
• Strong IV insertion and maintenance skills
• Ability to perform defibrillation and manage cardiac emergencies
• Familiarity with Meditech Expanse (preferred) and accurate electronic charting
• Ability to work independently, prioritize under pressure, and follow strict procedural protocols
