Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; includes weekends (4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks), holidays scheduled based on unit rotation
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments and detect subtle changes in neurologic status
- Monitor telemetry and recognize dysrhythmias promptly, escalating per protocol
- Manage epilepsy monitoring needs including 24-48 hour trend EEG observations
- Perform and demonstrate competence in sterile technique during Foley insertions and central line dressing changes
- Provide skilled IV care and collaborate with IV SWAT RN for difficult sticks
- Deliver compassionate care for neuro patients (TBI, brain tumors, subdural hematomas, post-op scoliosis, epilepsy)
- Document care accurately in Cerner and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
- Participate in SIMs Lab, lifts/restraints education, and unit-based competency validation
Qualifications
- Active RN license (able/willing to submit — license to submit accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Must have Level 1 Trauma experience (explicit requirement)
- Proven telemetry/MedSurg experience and dysrhythmia recognition skills (must pass dysrhythmia exam)
- Competence with Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (SIMs Lab pass/fail)
- Comfort working nights and participating in weekend/holiday rotations
- Travel requirements: own vehicle for travel teams; adherence to site appearance/fit-test policies (natural hair color, no facial piercings, men clean shave for fit test)
Education
- BSN preferred
- Associate degree or diploma in Nursing acceptable if RN licensed
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong neurological assessment skills including cranial nerve checks
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition
- Critical thinking and rapid clinical decision-making
- Sterile technique and procedural competence (Foley, central line dressing)
- IV insertion and advanced IV skills
- Experience with Cerner electronic medical records
- Comfort with epilepsy monitoring and interpreting trend EEG contexts
- Familiarity with neuro diagnoses and post-op neuro patient care
