Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide thorough physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver hands-on and evidence-based interventions to improve patient mobility and function
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and the rehab team to coordinate excellent patient care
- Document patient progress accurately and timely in the facility EMR
- Educate patients and families on recovery goals, home programs, and safety
- Contribute to discharge planning to support safe transitions back to home or next level of care
Qualifications
- Current or eligible for California Physical Therapist license (state licensure required for practice)
- Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program (DPT preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
- Strong clinical assessment and manual therapy skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a multidisciplinary setting
- Prior acute care or inpatient experience preferred but motivated new graduates encouraged to apply
Education
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; Master's or Bachelor's in Physical Therapy considered when licensure credentials met
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in therapeutic exercise, gait training, and mobility interventions
- Knowledge of common inpatient diagnoses and related PT interventions
- Comfortable with short-term, goal-focused treatment planning
- Proficient in clinical documentation and electronic medical records
- Ability to prioritize caseload and adapt to changing patient needs
