Shift Type: 5 days/week, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Day); flexible to 4x10 option; no weekends required

Candidate Pay Rate: $71 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients with hand and upper extremity conditions and establish individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
- Deliver skilled hand therapy interventions including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and functional task training
- Fabricate and fit custom splints and orthoses to support healing and function
- Collaborate with surgeons, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate high-quality outpatient care
- Document thorough, timely clinical notes and progress toward measurable goals
- Educate patients and caregivers on home programs, activity modifications, and injury prevention
- Monitor outcomes and adjust interventions to maximize patient independence and return to daily activities
- Contribute to a positive clinic environment by mentoring support staff and participating in quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- California OT license required
- Registered Occupational Therapist credential preferred (OTR)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of prior experience in outpatient hand therapy
- Comfortable with outpatient hand clinic workflows and splinting responsibilities
- Open to travel/contract assignments; first-time travelers welcome
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team
Education
- Degree in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor's or Master's) with OTR credential preferred
- Current California state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
Knowledge & Skills
- Hand therapy principles and protocols including splint fabrication
- Manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercise for the upper extremity
- Knowledge of common post-surgical and trauma-related hand conditions
- Proficiency in patient education and home program design
- Solid documentation practices and familiarity with electronic medical records
- Excellent clinical reasoning, time management, and caseload prioritization
- Collaborative approach to working with surgeons, PTs, and clinic staff
