Shift Type: 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, nights (3 shifts per week; includes weekend coverage; 3 weekend shifts per contract)

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality progressive care to PCU patients with diverse diagnoses including trauma and ortho needs
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to dysrhythmias and rapid response events
- Perform IV starts, manage lines (PICC, central, peripheral) and handle blood product administration safely
- Administer medications and manage cardiac and insulin drips per protocol
- Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC to ensure continuity of care
- Collaborate with respiratory, PT, pharmacy, social services and the rapid response team for coordinated care
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, procedures and discharge plans to support recovery
- Float to other units as needed while maintaining excellent patient care standards
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (per state requirements)
- Minimum 2 years of PCU or progressive care nursing experience
- BLS and ACLS required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Telemetry experience required
- Comfort working night shifts and participating in required weekend coverage
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
- Previous charge experience and trauma level I exposure preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Progressive care and telemetry monitoring expertise
- IV therapy, blood product administration and central/PICC line care
- Interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias
- Tracheostomy and chest tube care, HFNC and BiPAP/CPAP management
- Wound care including wound vac and surgical drain management
- Familiarity with heparin protocols, insulin drips and cardiac drip management
- Strong patient education, documentation and interdisciplinary communication skills
