Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality adult patient care on a combined PCU/Stepdown unit, focusing on transplant and high-acuity medical patients
• Continuously monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to guide timely interventions
• Manage advanced respiratory support (BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC) and respond to respiratory changes
• Administer and titrate IV insulin protocols, vasoactive and cardiac drips safely and accurately
• Care for central lines, PICCs and peripheral IVs, including blood product administration
• Support post-procedure recovery (kidney biopsy, paracentesis) with attentive monitoring and documentation
• Chart thoroughly in EPIC and manage medications with the Pyxis system to ensure safe, coordinated care
• Float within the OSU organization as needed and participate in unit call rotations

Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license (required)
• Current BLS (required) and ACLS (required)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with a strong Stepdown/PCU background
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and titration of drips
• Experience with EPIC charting and Pyxis medication system preferred
• Willingness to float within the OSU organization and participate in weekend and call coverage

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• IV therapy including insulin drips, cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Central line and PICC care and blood product administration
• Advanced non-invasive respiratory support: BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC
• Transplant care familiarity: renal, liver, and pancreas transplant recovery
• Post-procedure monitoring (kidney biopsy, paracentesis) and recovery management
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic charting and Pyxis medication workflows
• Dialysis-related care basics, feeding tube management, CAPD exchanges and CBI
