Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; rotating across all days of the week with every-other weekend and every-other holiday requirements (primarily nights with rotation; manager may consider blocked scheduling)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $61 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor adult and geriatric patients on a Med/Telemetry/PCU unit, delivering safe, patient-centered care
- Read and interpret cardiac strips and telemetry to detect changes and intervene early
- Titrate and manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (for example: amiodarone, cardizem, heparin, nitro, nipride, lasix) with precision and confidence
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team including physicians, respiratory therapists, and monitor techs to coordinate care
- Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC to maintain clear, timely patient records
- Provide patient and family education on cardiac conditions, post-procedure care (including pacers and caths), and discharge planning
- Support unit flow by floating as needed to PCU, med-surg, or assisting with ER holds and boarders
- Step into charge or light assignment roles occasionally, partnering with the charge nurse to ensure safe staffing and assignments
Qualifications
- Current RN license in good standing (state licensure required)
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience; PCU/Med-Telemetry experience is required
- Comfortable reading and interpreting cardiac telemetry strips independently
- Experience titrating drips and managing cardiac patients including post-cath, EP studies and pacers
- EPIC charting experience preferred
- Open to first-time travel nurses — orientation and support provided
- Able to meet facility radius and RTO requirements as specified by employer
Education
- Active RN license required
- BSN preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong telemetry and cardiac monitoring skills
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting ECG strips
- Clinical competence with PCU/stepdown level care
- Ability to titrate and manage common cardiac drips safely
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic health record
- Troubleshooting skills for BiPAP, trach and high-flow devices
- Excellent communication, prioritization and critical thinking under pressure
- Team-oriented mindset with flexibility to float and adapt to changing unit needs
