Shift Type: 3x12 Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (three 12-hour nights per week; specific days vary), every-other-weekend coverage required; night shift (NOC)

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage complex, critically ill cardiac and medical ICU patients with skill and compassion
- Operate and manage ventilators and provide ventilator care including HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, and suctioning
- Perform hemodynamic monitoring, interpret ABGs, and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips safely
- Start and maintain IVs, manage arterial, central and PICC lines, and administer blood products
- Provide continuous IV sedation monitoring and procedural sedation support when needed
- Recognize and manage dysrhythmias; obtain and interpret 12-lead EKGs
- Participate in emergency response and administer emergency medications when called upon
- Document thoroughly in EPIC and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
- Float within the OSU organization as needed to support patient care across units
- Practice infection prevention and isolation precautions to keep patients and staff safe
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- EPIC experience required — you’ll be charting like a pro
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA certifications only)
- Competency with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and telemetry
- Comfort with IV start/maintenance, arterial and central line management, and blood product administration
- Ability to manage CRRT/CVVHD, titrate drips, and support patients with multisystem organ dysfunction
- Willingness to float to different units within the OSU organization as needed
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
Knowledge & Skills
- Ventilator management and pulmonary support (HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, suctioning)
- Hemodynamic monitoring including Swan-Ganz/Pulmonary Artery monitoring and IABP/Impella familiarity
- CRRT/CVVHD operation and renal support protocols
- EKG/12-lead acquisition and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
- IV therapy including starts, PICC and central line care, and blood product administration
- Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips and emergency medication administration
- Continuous IV sedation/procedural sedation monitoring
- Strong EPIC documentation skills and telemetry experience
- Infection prevention, isolation precautions, and standard PPE practices
- Phlebotomy and clinical assessment for adult critically ill patients
