Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop individualized PT treatment plans that drive recovery
• Deliver hands-on and therapeutic interventions across inpatient, outpatient, and rehab settings
• Perform bedside swallow studies and support speech-related care when appropriate
• Document accurately and timely in Cerner PowerChart to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with OT, SLP, nursing, rehab aides, and interdisciplinary teams for coordinated treatment
• Supervise and mentor rehab aides and support staff to maximize patient outcomes
• Float between assigned areas as needed to meet patient care demands
• Participate in unit-specific orientation and complete required department training

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist in the state of California (state license required)
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical PT experience required; travel and trauma experience preferred
• Comfortable with inpatient and outpatient caseloads, including ortho, neuro, post-surgical, and trauma
• Experience or willingness to perform bedside and video swallowing studies (preferred for Speech-related care)
• Proficient or willing to train in Cerner PowerChart documentation
• Able to work varying schedules and float between areas as assigned

Education

• State PT license required; specific academic degree not specified in posting

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and treatment planning skills for ortho, neuro, cardiac, trauma, and med-surg patients
• Skilled in inpatient and outpatient rehab modalities and therapeutic exercise
• Experience with bedside swallow studies; video swallowing studies preferred
• Proficient documentation practices and charting in Cerner PowerChart
• Ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams
• Good time management and caseload prioritization for high-volume settings
