Roles & Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed daily medications to patients in accordance with medical protocols and program policy
- Operate and maintain automated dispensing systems and calibrated pumps to ensure safe medication delivery
- Manage medication inventory, order and stock supplies in compliance with DEA and state regulations (Power of Attorney if applicable)
- Produce, maintain and submit required records and reports to meet company, federal and state requirements
- Ensure secure storage and distribution of controlled substances following Code of Federal Regulations
- Perform daily patient assessments and communicate findings to the treatment team
- Assist the Nursing Supervisor with orientation and training of new nursing staff
- Work cooperatively with counseling and supervisory staff to provide empathetic, non-judgmental care for patients with Substance Use Disorder
Qualifications
- Active LPN/LVN license for New Hampshire (Nursys must state Active NH or compact license) — required
- Minimum 1+ year of Medication Administration experience — required
- Active BLS certification — required (documented)
- Current skills checklist for LPN practice (within 1 year) — required (document)
- Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years — required (document)
- Opioid Addiction Center experience — highly preferred
- Ability to complete BayMark drug screen and background check quickly (quick-start process)
- Comfortable following strict controlled substance and documentation protocols
Education
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) — active state license required
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication Administration best practices and safety checks
- Automated Dispensing Systems (ADS) operation and troubleshooting
- Pump calibration and maintenance
- Medication inventory management and secure controlled-substance handling (DEA/state regs)
- Accurate recordkeeping and regulatory reporting
- Patient assessment and documentation of daily treatment progress
- Nursing orientation and on-the-job training for new staff
- Compassionate, non-judgmental approach to patients with Substance Use Disorder
