Candidate Pay Rate: $55 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform thorough pre-op assessments for both inpatients and outpatients, ensuring surgical readiness
- Provide clear, compassionate pre-op education and medication reconciliation to patients and families
- Manage Phase II recovery care and prepare patients for safe discharge home
- Administer and monitor narcotics/opioid analgesics and reversal agents per protocols
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize/manage dysrhythmias as needed
- Document all patient care accurately in Epic to support continuity and quality of care
- Float across surgical service lines as needed, bringing flexibility and a team-first attitude
- Assist with IV therapy, phlebotomy, airway assessments and other procedural support tasks
Qualifications
- Active RN licensure (compact license is honored at Swedish facilities — verify your status)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience; travel experience required, unit does not accept first-time travelers
- BLS required, ACLS preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience in Ambulatory/Outpatient, Inpatient, Pre-Post and Phase II Recovery settings
- Comfort managing cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmias, conscious sedation and MAC care within your scope
- Able to float within surgical services and work with a diverse surgical case mix
Knowledge & Skills
- Pre/post operative assessment, education and discharge instruction expertise
- Phase II recovery workflows and safe discharge criteria
- Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition/management
- Medication management including narcotics/opioids and reversal agents
- Familiarity with surgical case types: ENT, General, Gyn, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Urology and more
- IV therapy, phlebotomy, catheterization skills and wound vac familiarity
- Comfort with conscious sedation, monitored anesthesia care (MAC), nerve blocks and post-epidural management
- Strong documentation skills in Epic and effective interdisciplinary communication
