Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality CT and radiographic exams using established protocols to produce diagnostic images
• Apply ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure for patients and staff
• Determine and set proper technique factors (kV, mA, exposure time) to optimize image quality
• Position patients accurately and use appropriate shielding to ensure safety and diagnostic value
• Follow CT and MRI protocols as ordered by physicians and radiologists and complete imaging documentation
• Screen patients for MRI safety and manage patient transport and transfers with care and dignity
• Operate portable radiography equipment safely in OR, ER, recovery, and patient rooms
• Maintain sterile technique and cleanliness to prevent cross-contamination and support patient safety

Qualifications

• Current ARRT registration: ARRT (R)(CT)(MR) required (CT registration is mandatory, not optional)
• Graduate of an approved ARRT program
• Minimum 2 years of CT experience (explicit requirement)
• Proven ability with CT protocols, radiography, MRI safety, and patient positioning
• Comfortable performing portable radiography and imaging in OR/ER settings
• Able to work the scheduled day and night blocks for the contract period

Education

• Graduated from an approved ARRT program
• Current ARRT (R)(CT)(MR) registration

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of CT imaging protocols and CT registration requirements
• Strong understanding of radiation safety and ALARA principles
• Skillful patient positioning for optimal diagnostic imaging
• Familiarity with MRI safety screening and MR imaging basics
• Experience with portable radiography and operating in OR/ER environments
• Ability to obtain patient history, document reactions, and manage consent processes
• Pediatric imaging experience and sterile technique where applicable
