Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, helping with activities of daily living with dignity and respect
- Assist with bathing, dressing, feeding, mobility and toileting while promoting independence
- Take and record vital signs and document resident changes accurately and promptly
- Work closely with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control and safety protocols
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents and families to keep them informed and reassured
- Be an advocate for residents — notice changes, speak up, and contribute to better outcomes
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) certification — NH or VT licensure accepted/required as applicable
- T-LNA classification listed on the order welcome (training classification as indicated)
- Completion of an approved nursing assistant program
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working in a long-term care/rehab environment and collaborating with a care team
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved nursing assistant (LNA) training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, transfers) with safe body mechanics
- Accurate charting and documentation practices
- Basic vital signs assessment and reporting
- Infection prevention and control knowledge
- Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
- Teamwork, clear communication, and a resident-centered approach
