Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity nursing care across a combination ICU float pool (MICU, SICU, TICU, CVICU), ensuring safe, patient-centered outcomes
• Manage and titrate critical drips (pressors, sedatives, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, insulin) per protocol
• Operate and manage ventilator support and assist RT with troubleshooting respiratory needs
• Interpret telemetry and monitor strips independently to detect and act on patient changes
• Care for patients on advanced support (CRRT, IABP, Impella) and adapt nursing assignments based on acuity
• Document accurately and efficiently in EPIC to support continuity of care
• Float to different facilities within Zone 1 as assigned and collaborate with local teams to fill staffing needs
• Participate in orientation/precepting activities and follow unit-specific policies and schedules

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to practice in Colorado; compact license accepted where applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience (if first-time traveler, 3+ years ICU experience plus EPIC experience required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NIHSS required
• Comfortable titrating critical drips and managing ventilated patients
• Experience with telemetry interpretation and high-acuity monitoring
• Preferred: travel nursing experience and familiarity with CRRT, IABP, Impella
• Driver's license on file (DL must be submitted) to support floating within the 60-mile zone

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) accepted; BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing principles and bedside assessment
• Telemetry strip interpretation and arrhythmia recognition
• Ventilator management and respiratory troubleshooting
• Titration of vasoactive and sedative drips
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic charting
• Ability to work autonomously in high-acuity environments and escalate appropriately
• Strong communication skills for effective handoffs and family updates
• Flexibility to float between ICU types and adapt to varied patient populations
