Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered psychiatric care during 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM shifts
- Assist clinical staff with therapeutic activities, observation, and behavioral interventions
- Monitor and document patient status, progress, and any incidents accurately and timely
- Support a safe and secure environment within the correctional medical setting
- Participate actively in training and orientation during the initial two-week period
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to promote continuity of care
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) license required
- Comfortable and professional working in a correctional health environment
- Willing and available to work the assigned Fri-Tue schedule (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday)
- Able to complete the two-week training/onboarding at the start of the assignment
- Ability to pass required facility clearances and background checks
Education
- Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) - required
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong skills in patient observation, documentation, and reporting
- Experience or familiarity with psychiatric patient care and de-escalation techniques
- Clear, compassionate communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow facility policies and maintain security protocols
- Basic clinical skills relevant to psychiatric technician duties
