Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (Day), rotating schedule including weekends (approximately 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks); may be placed on standby for scheduled shifts
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive neuro assessments and monitor intracranial pressure (ICP) to detect subtle changes in neurologic status
- Manage ventilator settings and collaborate with Respiratory Therapy for complex airway needs
- Care for patients with external ventricular drains (EVDs) and maintain strict sterile technique
- Provide telemetry monitoring and respond to dysrhythmias and other acute events
- Perform Foley catheter insertions and central line dressing changes per SIMs Lab competency
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams including neurosurgery, pharmacy, and rehab services
- Safely float between ICU and Tele units while maintaining high standards of patient care
- Participate in unit safety practices (lifts, restraints, wound care) and uphold hospital protocols
Qualifications
- Active RN license (eligible to practice in Arizona)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience in a large facility (450+ beds) required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- EVD (external ventricular drain) experience required
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- 3-6 months travel experience preferred
- Able to pass required exams and SIMs Lab competencies (DYS exam; SIMs Lab is pass/fail)
- Willingness to float between ICU and Tele units and to follow facility-specific fit-test and appearance requirements
- Travel teams must have reliable vehicle access
Education
- Graduated from an accredited nursing program and active RN licensure
- BSN not explicitly required for this role
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong neuro assessment skills and familiarity with common neuro diagnoses and procedures
- ICP monitoring and management
- Ventilator management and advanced respiratory monitoring
- Telemetry monitoring and use of Phillips monitors
- Proficient with Cerner EMR for charting and documentation
- Sterile technique for central line care and invasive procedures
- Competence in Foley insertion and wound care
- Ability to work in a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma environment
