Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality Med-Surg nursing care to assigned patients
• Perform rapid and accurate patient assessments and triage when ED patients arrive
• Coordinate care and handoffs between Med-Surg and Emergency Department teams
• Administer medications, monitor patient responses and document care in a timely manner
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and update individualized care plans
• Support unit flow and acuity management with an ADC of 3, ensuring safe patient ratios
• Participate in required competence testing and skills validation to maintain clinical standards

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (valid and verifiable)
• BLS, PALS and ACLS certifications required
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications required
• Ability to pass Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Willingness to participate in holiday rotation and occasional weekend coverage
• Ability to relocate for the travel assignment and work collaboratively in a 2-RN Med-Surg team

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Med-Surg nursing fundamentals and patient assessment skills
• Emergency Department triage experience and ability to transition to ED care when needed
• Effective communication and teamwork in high-acuity situations
• Familiarity with unit acuity management (ADC) and prioritizing multiple patients
• Comfort with competency testing and maintaining procedural skills
